The Church Scholarship Initiative

The Church Scholarship Initiative is a service intended to offer The Elemental Group’s Pathway Program to under-resourced churches at a radically reduced rate. EG suggests that participating churches pay a small fee as a “good faith” follow-through commitment as well as the opportunity to voluntarily contribute to the scholarship fund for future leaders and churches.

Overview

The program consists of 5 phases: (1) the Elemental Inventory, (2) a Lead Pastor Elemental Leadership Assessment, (3) the EnVision vision/mission/values clarification tool, (4) the Vibe “first impressions” assessment kit, and (5) the FOCUS Strategic Planning exercise, along with six-months of one-on-one follow-up executive coaching for the lead pastor. Funding

Funding is provided by generous donors and organizations wanting to strengthen and grow existing churches that lack resources for church health/development consultation

Church Selection

Potential churches may be identified for eligibility via four methods:

Through direct request via our social media and/or website;
By the donor’s request in behalf of a specific church;
Recommendation from another church previously served by the Elemental Group;
Nomination by any of the Elemental Group staff or Advisory Council.

Vetting Process

A nominated church is eligible for scholarship after:

It is identified as authentically resource-challenged;
The senior/lead pastor is interviewed by an Elemental Group staff member;
It is recognized as having a healthy, team-based leadership structure;
The leadership has a clearly expressed desire to grow and increase outward-focused effectiveness;
It has team consensus to invest time & energy in the process;
It has final approval for a scholarship by the Elemental Group’s Directors;
It submits $500 as a “good faith” follow-through.
